Matt was a 12 year-old boy who had to live alone for several months to guard his family's new cabin while his dad was bringing his mom and sister. Matt had many adventures while they were gone, including getting stung by thousands of bees, befriending Indians, a bear breaking into his cabin, and having to make the difficult decision to wait by himself for his family to return or move on with the Indians.
Mrs. Griffin's 5th grade class just finished reading this novel and built the scenes from the story.
